Purpose of Scholarship Program

The purpose of MaxYield Cooperative’s scholarship program is to encourage area youth to pursue and prepare for careers in agriculture.  This program is designed to provide financial assistance for students pursuing higher education in the field of agriculture.

Scholarship Amount

MaxYield will offer a maximum of six $1000 scholarships to full-time students in pursuit of agricultural curriculum.  Scholarship applications and essays are due to MaxYield by March 1, 2021. (Postmarked or submitted online no later than March 1, 2021).

How to Apply

You may download the PDF version of the application, fill out and return with your essay titled “Why I selected agriculture as my career” to the address on the application. Download the PDF application, here.

What is required?

We encourage you to download the PDF application to review the questions asked, and to prepare your essay and supporting documents. You are required to submit:

  • Complete the online or PDF application form completely,
  • Submit your essay, titled “Why I selected agriculture as my career,”
  • Attach your high school and/or college (if applicable) transcripts,
  • Submit recent a photograph to be used for publicity if you are selected for a scholarship award

Selection Committee

MaxYield Cooperative has designated the following individuals to serve as the scholarship selection committee (subject to change): Chad Meyer: client relations, MaxYield Cooperative; Emily Campbell, communications, MaxYield Cooperative; Kate Tewes: client care leader MaxYield Cooperative; Barry Anderson; MaxYield Cooperative Board of Directors.

Scholarship Eligibility (please read carefully)

  1. Applicant must be a MaxYield Cooperative client or a dependent of a MaxYield Cooperative client.
  2. Applicant must be a high school or college student enrolled in an agricultural curriculum.
  3. The applicant must complete the application form.  Forms are sent to area guidance counselors and high schools, available on our web site, or may be picked up at any MaxYield location.
  4. Applicants must submit a written essay with the application, no more than one page, entitled “Why I selected agriculture as my career.”
  5. Applicants must submit a copy of your high school and college (if applicable) transcripts.
  6. Applicants must be enrolled as a full-time freshman, sophomore, or junior student at an accredited College, Trade School, or a high school graduating senior enrolling into the fall semester at an accredited College or Trade School.
  7. Applicants must have cumulative GPA of at least 2.5 at a local high school or college.
  8. Maximum number of times a student can win the scholarship award is twice.
  9. The awarded scholarship will be applied toward tuition for Fall Semester.

Award Process

  1. Complete the application and submit by March 1, 2021
  2. The Selection Committee will review applications.
  3. Scholarship winners will be notified of the award.
  4. Financial Aid Department of applicable college will apply scholarship award toward tuition.
