Brad Engh

Sales Team Leader

Brad grew up on his family’s farm near Kanawha, Iowa. In the spring of 2003, he graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in Agricultural Business and a minor in Agronomy. Brad has also farmed since 2003 and prior to joining the MaxYield team he worked for Morton Buildings for thirteen years.

Brad joined the MaxYield team in May of 2016 and is looking forward to being involved in agriculture every day. He hopes to provide profitable solutions and high quality client service to MaxYield clients. In his free time, Brad enjoys spending time with his wife, Andrea, and their two children, as well as working on his own farm.

Joe Bollig

Supply Chain Leader

To Joe, the best part of coming to work each day is working with growers on ways to maximize production and minimize risks on their farms.

He was raised on a farm near Fenton, Iowa, took farm management at ILCC, and started his professional career in the ag retail industry in 1991. He’s worked his way through all aspects of the business including crop consultant and plant manager. In 1999, Joe passed both state and national board tests to become a Certified Crop Adviser.

Joe is married to Julie Bollig. Together they have four children: Maleri, Madison Merideth and Seth.

Dan Bjorklund

Seed Team Leader

Prior to joining MaxYield Cooperative, Dan worked for several years as an agronomist at Land O’Lakes, Inc., where his primary duties were training team members at Answer Plot tours and evaluating genetics for advancement.

A graduate of Iowa State University with a degree in Agronomy, Dan has a passion for helping clients develop prescription based genetics by soil fertility to maximize yield. He’s excited to be a part of the MaxYield team because of its solutions based culture.

In his free time, Dan enjoys fishing, hunting, gardening and photography.

Nate Christie

West Area Seed Solutions Specialist

Seed is where it all starts for Nate Christie, the newest addition to the MaxYield Seed team. His childhood on a hobby farm in Southern Minnesota with livestock projects for county and state fairs is what sparked his interest in agriculture.

Nate furthered his education at South Dakota State University before building a career of nearly 20 years in the industry. He is excited by opportunities for MaxYield’s Seed Team in the West area and looks forward to guiding clients in selecting seed solutions for their operations each year.

Two school-aged children keep Nate on his toes, and many weekends are spent attending youth sports tournaments or assisting with 4-H livestock projects. He also enjoys fishing and clipping show cattle in his free time.

Mike Hommez

Central Area Seed Solutions Specialist

Adding value is important to Mike, who started his career at MaxYield in 2003 as an agronomy specialist in Whittemore. He became a seed solutions specialist two years later and served local growers until August 2008, when he became a district sales manager with WinField® United in northern Iowa, where he specialized in seed.

Mike’s WinField experience increased his understanding of the business side of the seed industry, gaining a wealth of knowledge that he now shares with clients at MaxYield.

As a MaxYield seed solutions specialist, Mike serves clients in the central area and beyond, including West Bend, Whittemore, Algona, Mallard and Emmetsburg.  Mike values MaxYield’s team approach, where the agronomist, seed solutions specialist and SciMax Solutions specialist work together to deliver the best solutions for our clients.

Hommez, his wife, Susan, and their family live in Algona and have two children, Rebecca and Caleb.  The Hommez family loves Iowa State University athletics and are Cyclone football season-ticket holders.

Matt Keel

East Area Seed Solutions Specialist

A farm kid from near Forest City, Matt always knew he wanted to work in agriculture. He is a 2004 graduate of North Iowa Area Community College and has six years of seed sales management experience prior to coming to MaxYield in 2013.

Each day, Matt looks forward to working one-on-one with clients in our east region, researching the best seed solutions for their farm.

Matt lives in the Forest City/Crystal Lake area and enjoys spending time with his wife Ashley and their daughter Kinsley. He also enjoys snowmobiling in Wisconsin and the Big Horn Mountains of Wyoming.

Tim Bruns

Agronomy Specialist - West Bend & Whittemore Area

Tim understands the challenge of being a farmer. He grew up on a farm and then spent eight years farming after he graduated from Iowa State University with a B.S. degree in Farm Operations. Tim became a Certified Crop Adviser in 2000.

In his spare time, Tim enjoys fishing, hunting, and riding motorcycles.

Brian Cable

Agronomy Specialist - Milford Area

Brian was raised near Milford, Iowa and was very active on his family’s farm growing up. He graduated from Iowa Lakes Community College with a degree in Agricultural Business in 1997. Brian has worked in operations and seed and agronomy throughout his career. In 2005 he began his position as an Agronomy Specialist, first in Milford, then in Superior. In December of 2015, Brian returned to the Milford location.

He enjoys working for a consistent, progressive and grower friendly company. Brian is a certified Kansas City Barbeque Society Judge and enjoys judging barbeque contests in his free time, as well as spending time with his children and family.

Mark Eisenman

Agronomy Specialist - Britt Area

Like most of his fellow Agronomy Specialists, Mark has spent a lifetime in agriculture. He grew up and continues to live on the family farm. His profession career spans over 30+ years in agriculture.

He’s and his wife Darcy have five children: Josh, Chad, Erin, Bailey and Ben.

Tom Evans

Agronomy Specialist - Superior Area

Tom has been interested in agriculture ever since he helped out on his family farm. He graduated from Iowa Lakes Community College with a degree in what would now be known as Agricultural Business. Tom has been working in Superior since 1982. He has experience in a wide variety of areas including operations, client care, and sales. At MaxYield, Tom hopes to provide high quality client care and be able to find the best solutions for his clients.

In his free time, Tom enjoys spending time with his wife, Margaret, and visiting their three children

Hunter Gelhaus

Agronomy Specialist - Garner Area

After his successful internship in agronomy sales with MaxYield in 2019, Hunter returned to the cooperative full time in 2020 after graduating from Iowa State University with a degree in Agriculture Business. A passion for agriculture was in his blood growing up on a farm near Lakota and he never looked back.

Since joining the team, Hunter has provided solutions to clients throughout our East area, especially near Garner. He looks forward to continuing to build his skills and career at MaxYield while also staying involved in his family’s row crop operation.

Jake Heikens

Agronomy Specialist - Fostoria & Everly Area

Jake studied ag business at Iowa Lakes Community College after graduating from Spencer High School in 2015. He connected with MaxYield through on-the-job training (OJT) in the spring of 2016 and again in 2017, when he worked in the Spencer seed warehouse.

After graduating in the spring of 2018, Heikens joined MaxYield full-time in the west area, where he handled everything from grain operations to the warehouse to driving a tender truck. Shortly after, Jake had the opportunity to transition into an agronomy specialist. Jake says, "I want to keep increasing my knowledge so I can do the best job I can for MaxYield’s clients.”

Tyler Hoffman

Agronomy Specialist - Dickens Area

When Tyler Hoffman completed his agronomy internship at MaxYield Cooperative in 2018, he gained clarity on two things: He knew he wanted to keep learning about agronomy, and he wanted to grow his career in Iowa. After a senior year internship with a large retail seed company in sales and earning a degree in Agricultural Business from Iowa State University, Tyler returned to MaxYield to begin his career in agronomy.

Tyler is a native of the Graettinger-area and currently serves clients out of our Dickens location.

In his free time his enjoys helping on his family’s row crop and hog farm, and hanging out on the green with the golf league at Hillcrest Golf and Country Club in Graettinger.

Jon Kaduce

With over 35 years in the agronomy business, Jon brings the practical knowledge and experience to help MaxYield’s clients get the most from their fields.

Shelby Knapp

Agronomy Specialist - Algona & Emmetsburg Area

A graduate from Iowa State University, building a career at MaxYield was an opportunity to return home for Shelby. After interning here, she earned her Agronomy degree and Animal Ecology minor December 2016. A native of West Bend, Shelby chose to join the MaxYield team because she has always heard good things about working here and had a very positive internship experience with MaxYield Cooperative during college.

Shelby is proud to work at MaxYield and looks forward to the opportunity to broaden her knowledge in seed, chemicals and agronomy and building relationships with clients. She is passionate about ag and its people. Shelby believes in the importance of agriculture and finding cost-effective solutions for growers, knowing that many of them are raising families and looking for smart solutions for their operations.

Away from work, Shelby’s hobbies include hunting, fishing, cooking, art and DIY projects.


Colby Kraninger

Agronomy Specialist - Gruver Area

Although Colby joined the team in 2019 as an agronomy specialist trainee, he has been working for MaxYield Cooperative in on-the-job training (OJT) and internship experiences since 2014. He started his education at North Iowa Area Community College (NIACC), before transferring and graduating from Iowa State University in 2019 with a degree in agronomy.

Colby hails from Milford, IA and graduated from Okoboji High School in 2014. His brother, Dakota, also works for MaxYield in our Spencer location. Colby enjoys many aspects of his career with MaxYield Seed, but find the most joy in providing solutions to his clients. Building trust and a relationship with producers is something he takes a lot of pride in, and his solutions-based approach to agronomy has helped him quickly succeed at MaxYield.

Levi Quayle

Agronomy Specialist - Belmond & Klemme Area

Levi began his career at MaxYield in December 2015. A recent graduate from Iowa State University, he earned his Ag Business degree, and a minor in agronomy. He enjoys the complexity of agriculture and finding answers to the many challenges of the industry. Levi appreciates MaxYield’s client focus, team approach and adoption of new technology. Levi likes to be at the forefront of new technology and is excited each day to provide solutions to his clients.

He grew up on a farm in the Forest City area and in his free time, Levi likes spending time with friends, fishing and enjoying the outdoors.

Justin Zwiefel

Agronomy Specialist - Mallard Area

Justin Zwiefel joined the MaxYield team in May of 2013. An agronomy specialist, Justin enjoys having a flexible education plan that helps him learn about many different areas of seed and agronomy. He is based at our Mallard location and has been intentional about building strong relationships with MaxYield’s clients.

A native of Burt, IA, Justin is a 2013 graduate of South Dakota State University where he majored in agronomy. During his four years at SDSU, Justin was a member of the rodeo team and was very successful in the steer wrestling and calf roping competitions. In his free time, Justin continues to participate in rodeo competitions.
