Meet Our Senior Team
Chief Executive Officer
MaxYield Cooperative’s commitment to being a leading-edge agricultural solutions providers is the key reason Keith accepted the position of MaxYield’s CEO in 2007. He thrives on helping MaxYield members and team thrive in the ever changing and challenging world of 21st century agriculture.
Before joining MaxYield, Keith served as General Manager/Executive Vice President of Farm Service Cooperative based in Harlan, Iowa since 1988. He has extensive experience in the grain industry including merchandising, business operations and major grain construction projects. Keith also has a proven track record in positioning all Farm Service Cooperative divisions to compete in agriculture’s global market place.
A 1978 graduate of the University of Nebraska at Lincoln, Keith holds a Bachelor of Science Degree with an Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Business Management Major and Marketing Option.
Keith is a past director of Progressive Nutrition LLC board, and is past board president of CONTROL Systems Software, LLC.
Under Keith’s leadership, MaxYield has set local earnings records and has further established MaxYield as one of the leading cooperatives in the Midwest.
Chief Financial Officer
Susan became the chief financial officer (CFO) of MaxYield Cooperative January 1, 2014. Before joining MaxYield, she established an accounting and tax practice in Titonka in 1998. Prior to establishing her accounting firm, Susan served as an auditor for McGladrey & Pullen.
From 2004 to 2011, Susan served as a board member and audit committee chair for Midwest Grain Processors Cooperative (MGP). While sitting on the board for MGP and Global Ethanol, LLC, she worked with MaxYield on a regular basis. She says that positive impression of MaxYield made it an easy choice to come to work for the cooperative.
She earned her bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Northern Iowa. In addition to being a certified public accountant, she has held her Series 7 and Series 66 securities license. Susan and her husband Allen live on a farm near Woden and have three children.
Energy Team Leader
Helping clients and coworkers to come up with solutions to their challenges is what Chad enjoys most working at MaxYield. He was born and raised on a family farm and farmed with his father for three years after graduating with a degree in Agricultural Studies from Iowa State University. He joined the MaxYield team in 1999.
Chad enjoys spending time with his kids. He’s a big fitness buff and competes in triathlons. Making home improvements is another hobby that keeps him busy.
Grain Team Leader
Ben is the newest member of MaxYield’s senior team, starting his role as grain team leader in September of 2018. Prior to joining MaxYield, he was the grain division manager at ECI Cooperative based in Cedar Falls, IA for six and a half years. Ben brings a diverse grain industry background. Before ECI Cooperative, he worked for Garvey Processing, Inc., with stops in Illinois and New Mexico, prior to serving as J. D. Heiskell’s grain merchandising manager in Amarillo, TX from 2006-20011.
The part of agriculture Ben enjoys most is watching the fertile ground turn seeds into green crops that turn into food, fuel and so many things we depend on. Familiar with MaxYield’s positive reputation in the ag industry, he accepted MaxYield’s grain team leader position because he felt the co-op had the team members, financial strength and resources to grow.
Ben earned his Bachelor of Science degree in economics from the University of Illinois and his Master of business administration degree from Eastern New Mexico University. In his free time, he enjoys reading, spending time with his family, coaching youth sports and cheering for the Fighting Illini.
Operations Team Leader
Jeff began his career with MaxYield in 1997 as agronomy team leader and as needed, he served as location leader for the Mallard and Emmetsburg locations. He became operations leader in 2004, enjoying the diversity and challenge it brings.
Jeff started his career farming in 1972. He later attended Drake University, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1989, majoring in Finance and Insurance. His career prior to MaxYield took him to Central Iowa FS, in Adel, Iowa for two years in agronomy sales/operations, five years with Lawn Hill Co-op in New Providence, Iowa as agronomy leader/sales and one year as agronomy leader/sales for Farmers Co-op Society of Garner, Klemme and Meservey. In 1994, he received his Certified Crop Advisor certification.
Jeff and his wife Jennifer have two daughters. Jeff enjoys running, mountain hiking, canoeing the Boundary Waters, vacationing with family and working on home projects. Jeff resides in Algona and is a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and Noon Kiwanis.
Client Relations/Communications Leader
Every day Chad looks forward to helping our team members make this company better for our members and clients. He also embraces the challenge of finding solutions so that we can provide the answers our clients are looking for.
Chad grew up on a farm in northern Kossuth County. After receiving his Ag Business degree in 1994 from Iowa State University, Chad went to work as a Livestock Production Specialist for Land O’Lakes Feed at the Newell (IA) Cooperative Elevator. He joined the MaxYield team in 1997.
He has a passion for preserving the history of racing and agriculture in Kossuth County, and serves as a volunteer for the Kossuth County Ag & Motorsports Museum. Chad and his wife Amy have three boys. On the weekends April through September, he hosts auto racing radio shows on a local radio station. He is also the public address announcer at three Iowa race tracks and an internet-based broadcasting company.
Human Resource Director
For Diane, every day at MaxYield is an adventure and brings something new. She relishes the challenge and is passionate about being a resource to help her team members succeed. That focus serves her well as our human resource director.
Diane was raised on a farm and is married to a farmer. She has been with MaxYield since 2003. Prior to joining MaxYield, she served as Associate Director of the Grotto of the Redemption.
She and her husband have two daughters and a son. Diane enjoys spending time with her family, singing, walking, and wellness.
Seed/Agronomy/SciMax Team Leader
East Area Leader
Frank joined the MaxYield team 16 years ago, becoming the east area leader in February 2018. A native of Thornton, IA, Frank’s passion for providing solutions for farmers began when he was in high school. After attending college at North Iowa Area Community College and Bemidji State, Frank worked for 8 years at Curries Manufacturing in Mason City.
Frank’s past experience in providing agronomic solutions strengthens his ability to build teamwork and create a strong client focus. He looks forward to continuing his dedication to serving clients and team members as an area leader.
Away from work, Frank enjoys spending time outdoors, especially hunting, and being with his family.
Central Area Leader
Anything worth doing is worth doing right – that’s Gerald’s approach to his role as a team leader. He likes to give 100% to everything he does. Gerald enjoys working with a dedicated team of solutions providers and doing business with a great client base.
Gerald has been involved in agriculture all his life. He was raised on a farm and has been employed in agriculture since he graduated from Iowa Lakes Community College with a degree in Ag Business. After college, he was employed for 7 years at Farmers’ Cooperative Elevator, Titonka, Iowa. Then, he moved to Wyoming and worked for 6 years at Sheridan Commercial Company in Sheridan, Wyoming managing the feed mill and elevator.
He moved back to Iowa and spent 2 years at Fertile Grain Company in Crystal Lake, Iowa followed by 2 years at Whittemore Cooperative in Whittemore, Iowa. He has worked for MaxYield now for nearly 30 years.
He enjoys spending time with his family and working on his farm. Gerald likes riding horses, roping, and helping his son at rodeos with his events.
