MaxYield Members to Vote on Merger Proposal

MaxYield Cooperative, headquartered in West Bend, Iowa, reminds its Class A members to vote on the merger proposal with NEW Cooperative, Inc. All Class A (voting) members of MaxYield were mailed a merger information packet on June 4th containing a summary of benefits and copy of the merger proposal, as well as an official ballot.

The merger proposal ballots must be received at any MaxYield location or by mail no later than Thursday, July 1st by the close of business. Members with questions about the merger proposal or the voting process should contact MaxYield’s corporate office at 515-200-5115 or any MaxYield location.

Board Chairman Howard Hass said that at least 50% plus one of MaxYield’s Class A membership must participate in the vote for the vote to be effective. Of those voting, at least two-thirds of the ballots cast must be in favor of the merger proposal for it to pass. The ballots will be counted by a committee comprised of two board members, two MaxYield voting members and two representatives from an independent auditing firm at a special board meeting held on July 2nd. If the merger proposal passes, the merger with NEW Cooperative will be effective August 1st, 2021.

“Most importantly, we’d like our members to vote,” Haas said. “We encourage our members to be informed voters and if you have questions about the merger, please contact the board of directors or your MaxYield location. Your vote is important in this merger proposal.”
