For nearly a century, The National FFA Organization has been helping students learn premier leadership, personal growth, and career success through agricultural education. For the Okoboji FFA Chapter in Milford, Iowa, tractors like this 1944 Case SC help members apply those skills and abilities that they’ve learned through the Ag Ed program. The tractor was donated to the chapter by a man in Minnesota who learned about Okoboji High School’s restoration class, a course students take to learn to revive tractors each year.

Okoboji FFA advisor Mr. Rich Martin

The chapter takes the tractor they restore and raffles it off during their Tractor Ride Around West Lake (TRAWL), a ride the Okoboji FFA chapter organizes and executes annually. In his 25th year of teaching, Okoboji FFA Advisor Mr. Rich Martin understands the significance of restoration projects like the Case SC. “If they understand how some of these older tractors work it will be a great building block later on in life as they start to tinker and fix some of their own engines…” Those who wish to learn more about future TRAWL rides or the restoration class can email rmartin@okobojischools.org.
