Client Sees Benefits of Foliar Products on Corn
“This growing season was a stressful one. But when corn fields treated with Bio-Forge® show a 13 bu/acre advantage, I know it works.”
- Rick Hurley, Curlew, IA
A cold, wet spring followed by a dry summer is the “perfect storm” when it comes to crop stress. That’s why MaxYield® client Rick Hurley looked beyond the usual solutions to protect his yields. Adding Stoller’s Bio-Forge® to his crop management program is easy, affordable and effective.
Maximizing the genetic expression of plants, Bio-Forge is designed to manage the stress of extreme temperatures, high plant populations, excess moisture—even herbicide damage. Keeping plant hormones at the optimal balance, Bio-Forge manages excessive ethylene so plants can function properly. It is easy to use and can be applied any time in the growing season—as a seed, in-furrow or foliar treatment.
Backed by over 50 university studies, Bio-Forge® showed an average yield increase of 17.65 bu/acre on corn, 10 bu/acre increase on wheat and 5 bu/acre increase on soybeans. To see what Hurley has to say about the benefits of foliar products, check out the video.

Most Deficient Micronutrient in the Corn Belt
Zinc is essential for the growth of corn. It is a major factor in determining the fruit and root mass, assists in protein synthesis, promotes seed/grain formation and plant maturity, and aids in growth regulation and enzyme systems.
Zinc is critically needed on soil with high pH levels, soils with high phosphorus levels, and crops that grow in low organic matter, especially sandy and eroded soils.
Zinc Application:
MAX-IN ZMB
Apply between V-4 and V-6 Stage of Corn
Taking Your Soybean Yields to the Next Level
Boron benefits soybeans by transporting vital sugars through plant membranes. It promotes proper cell division and development, and is essential in pollination and flowering, which enhances fruit size. Born assists in Nitrogen and Phosphorus use by plants, and utilization of other nutrients.
Born can be tied up in the plant by different variables including soil pH, organic matter content, soil texture, soil water content, and temperature.
Boron Application:
Apply between V-6 and R-4 Stages
- 1 Quart/Acre
- Chelated (EDTA) to provide greater nutrient efficiency and compatible with Round-Up
- $15/gallon
Manganese Deficiency for Corn and Soybeans
Manganese is another essential nutrient needed for maximum growth in crops. Manganese is key in regulating the supply of growth hormones, increasing nitrogen metabolism, improving Nitrogen fixation, increasing carbohydrate utilization, accelerating germination, aiding in respiration, and hastening maturity.

Bio-Forge
Bio-Forge is an antioxidant with growth-enhancing co-factors for all crops. It assists in making crops and plants stronger and better able to live through stressful conditions. Bio-Forge can be applied on corn, soybeans, wheat, alfalfa, and more. Benefits to using Bio-Forge are an increase in tolerance to stress including drought, sustaining plant vigor, an increase in sugar transport from leaves to developing pods and seeds, enhancing pollination, flowering and kernel per pod count, and a faster recovery from herbicide applications or drift, including glyphosate.
